Y Sports Leagues provide an introductory, fun experience for children ages 3-18 years old. We're always in need of Volunteer Coaches to help teach sportsmanship, teamwork & specific skills to the kids! No experience necessary, we will provide you with practice plans. Volunteers must be 14 or older. We recommend that teenagers pair up with a friend to co-coach a team. We are in need of volunteers to help sort and bag food for families in our community. It is held the first Tuesday of every month. Please contact Kathy Alcaine at alcainek@ymcarichmond.org upon registering.

We are in search of volunteers with a love of the water who would like to assist our lead instructors with water safety instruction for children currently in 2nd grade. Our volunteers will help our lead instructors to teach comfortability in the water and develop skills through fun and confidence-building experiences as well as drowning prevention. Tutoring Buddies connects community members with kids and families who may need extra assistance in school. We focus on schoolwork as well as reading and math for elementary school age (K-5). Tutoring kits as well as training will be provided. This program takes place offsite at The Branch (Junction Drive Ashland, VA 23005) and is a six-week commitment for each session.
